After working for national venue operators and witnessing the impact of distant head office decisions on regional venues and communities, we founded Ghostwriter to shift the power balance back to the local level. Our mission is to support and stimulate independent music venues and promoters, making them the heroes of their own stories. We blend our knowledge and experience from national operators with our passion and understanding of independents. Dedicated to supporting and empowering these venues, we promote hundreds of shows annually and partner with venues to cover all areas Helix addresses, from financial management and booking to health and safety, ticketing, marketing, and administration. By effectively applying tailored best practices with our independent venue partners, we have achieved significant success, but we aim to expand this impact even further. Our latest innovation, Helix, is a comprehensive, all-in-one software platform specifically designed to meet the unique needs of independent venues and promoters. Helix integrates booking management, financial tracking, compliance support, and marketing tools into a single, user-friendly interface, addressing challenges that existing solutions overlook. Designed by and for independent venues, Helix provides the necessary tools to thrive. The grant will enable us to bring Helix to life, supporting the future of independent music venues, preserving the grassroots music scene, fostering local talent, and nurturing the next generation of headline artists.
