The database will give detailed data on the amount of blue water consumed to manufacture materials. This can be used by companies to measure and manage the amount of blue water consumed within their entire supply chains and to understand where the operational risk of water scarcity is. Large corporations are starting to understand that water in their supply chain is an organisational risk but they lack the data, tools and expertise to measure, monitor and manage their water footprints for manufactured materials. This project will offer the detailed data to facilitate such assessments and can be used by designers, manufacturers and procurement to map water issues and to facilitate global water reduction and efficiency gains.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
