10030800ACID-S - Accelerating the Creation of IP-Dependent Spin-outsClosedCollaborative R&DInnovate UKOver $1 trillion of intellectual Property (IP) is currently underexploited by organisations such as corporates and unversities around the world. This is due to the difficulties and costs associated with regularly identifying and valuing IP assets, as well as recognised inefficiencies in the spin-out and commercialisation process. In the project, new UK fintech startup Abaton will investigate the feasibility of a digital platform that allows R&D-intensive organisations to find internal, underutilised IP that can be spun-out for external commercialisation by potential entrepreneurs and SME partners. Project success will open up future opportunities in the field of IP finance as well as the valuation and valorisation of other intangible assets.
