This project explores the possibility of developing such a robotic system for the purpose of functional mechanical testing. Functional testing is an important requirement of modern day manufacturing to ensure the quality of the product. But testing is often expensive for low volume production. A low cost, flexible robotic system would reduce the cost of building test rigs and automate the testing process. Such a system would become an integral part of the modern day flexible manufacturing system.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
