Batteries are the fastest growing storage technology and will play a key role in the UK government commitment to The Climate Change Act, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 100% of 1990 levels by 2050\. Eqonic is committed to realising a net-zero economy for the UK and globally, generating opportunities for the development of a UK manufacturing battery facility servicing the supply and demand for the automotive and built environment sectors.

Eqonic intends to become a forerunner in the development of sustainable batteries where the materials used are recyclable, lower cost, readily available and ethically sourced. The materials identified by Eqonic have a mature and established abundant recycling infrastructure with low geopolitical risks or threats of large price fluctuations. The objective of this project is to deliver prototype demonstrators as a step towards developing a battery manufacturing facility fabricating multivalent ion batteries offering greater energy densities, faster charge-up characteristics, longer lifetimes and readily available materials. This will ensure the UK's access to energy production and energy storage, leading to sustainable supply chains, energy security along with a resilient circular economy.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
