It focuses on developing an advanced glove, integrating sensor technology and pneumatics, paired with Virtual Reality (VR) to facilitate effective, engaging, and remote hand rehabilitation. This project is a collaboration between Action Sense, Nudge Reality, and clinical experts from Craigavon Area and The Countess of Chester Hospital.

The primary goal of ActiGloveVR is to address the challenges in traditional stroke rehabilitation, including limited therapy access and patient engagement. The project aims to create a home-based rehabilitation solution that leverages the latest in digital health technology, thereby increasing the accessibility and effectiveness of stroke therapy.

ActiGloveVR stands out by combining tunable resistance, precise finger movement measurement, and an engaging VR-based rehabilitation program. This combination not only aids motor recovery but also makes the rehabilitation process more accessible and cost-effective. The project builds upon existing technologies in soft robotic gloves and VR applications, enhancing them for targeted physical rehabilitation.

With the rising incidence of stroke globally and the increasing need for patient-centered, home-based solutions, ActiGloveVR addresses a significant market gap. It also aligns with incoming regulations focusing on digital health solutions and telemedicine.

The project will result in the development of the ActiGloveVR prototype, alongside a VR platform for clinical trials. The project outputs will include detailed technical and commercial feasibility reports, supporting the potential for wide adoption in clinical settings.

This project is a synergistic collaboration bringing together expertise from different domains. Action Sense's experience in wearable sensor technology, Nudge Reality's proficiency in immersive XR product development, and invaluable clinical insights from healthcare experts collectively drive the project towards success.

ActiGloveVR aims to contribute positively to environmental sustainability by reducing the need for travel to healthcare facilities and potentially decreasing carbon emissions. Socially, the project endeavors to enhance the quality of life for stroke survivors, offering an innovative approach to rehabilitation that is both efficient and effective.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
