This experience positions us to understand and address the more complex and challenging situation of scheduling hospital clinical staff, where many departments operate 24/7, with a much broader range of specialties, and many additional and more complex constraints on staffing requirements. This project will develop a revolutionary flexible workforce scheduling system for hospital doctors and nurses. The aim is to put an end to rigid rosters of rolling day, evening and weekend shifts. Instead, we will create flexible rotas that take into account the personal lives of workers.
