10023867A New Concept: Fully-Automated, Fully-Recyclable Solution for Luxury Packaging TubesClosedCollaborative R&DInnovate UKThe escalating global environmental crisis has put sustainability as an ever-increasing priority for businesses and consumers. Single-use products and non-recyclable packaging are being phased out as the UK drives towards Net Zero 2050 commitments. Currently, secondary packaging tubes are made out of mixed materials, making them impossible to recycle through conventional channels with most ending up in landfill. Concept Packaging have designed an entirely recyclable, fully paperboard tube with high mechanical integrity which is currently built by hand and used in the luxury goods market. This project will develop a solution to automate the manufacture of these tubes at the high-volumes required by the market as retail drivers to sustainable solutions. The project will allow Concept Packaging to develop our fully recyclable secondary packaging tubes into a high-volume product to be offered worldwide. Concept Packaging will support the UK and global economy as well as supporting Net Zero 2050 ambitions.
