10151061Harmonising Innovation with TraditionClosedGrant for R&DInnovate UKWe will transform music education in Coventry and Warwickshire by building on our established in-school tuition model---the **RAD Hub**---and introducing the innovative online platform **RADICAL LIVE**. The RAD Hub currently provides trusted, face-to-face peripatetic music lessons across hundreds of partner schools. RADICAL LIVE will complement this by utilising AI, Augmented Reality (AR), and integrated CRM systems to deliver personalised, one-to-one online music lessons accessible from anywhere. By July 2026, our objective is to triple our total learner engagement from a baseline of approximately 5,000 learners in 2024 to at least 15,000 learners. Additionally, we aim to increase the proportion of these learners opting for GCSE Music or equivalent formal qualifications by 15%, as measured against current baseline data. To achieve these goals, we will rely on "RAD scores"---real-time feedback from schools, teachers, and parents---to refine teaching quality, lesson content, and user experience across both the RAD Hub and RADICAL LIVE. We will also run pre- and post-lesson surveys to measure gains in learner confidence, targeting at least a 20% improvement in self-reported skill and confidence scores within one academic year. **A Narrative Use Case:** Imagine a pupil from a low-income background who dreams of learning the drums. Typically, schools cannot afford a full acoustic drum kit, but through the RAD Hub we provide these instruments free of charge. We also offer pupil premium-supported lessons, ensuring no financial barrier to participation. The learner, now practising on a real kit in a small group setting, quickly develops coordination and rhythmic awareness. After school, they access RADICAL LIVE at home, where AR-based tutorials and AI-driven personalisation help them overcome specific technical challenges---such as mastering a particular drum rudiment. With immediate, tailored feedback, the pupil steadily builds competence and confidence, eventually considering formal music qualifications. This tangible, learner-focused scenario demonstrates our approach's impact, turning aspiration into achievable progression. We are supported by Warwickshire County Council, the British Business Bank, and endorsed by session musicians Harry Robinson (Sam Smith) and Ben Thomas (Adele). Several partner schools have already expressed interest in piloting RADICAL LIVE. Offering free equipment and subsidised tuition for disadvantaged learners directly supports the government's "levelling up" policies and the National Plan for Music Education, ensuring cultural access and fostering musical talent without financial constraints.
