However, the company is in a world dominated by data science companies who are gaining market share in the industry.

This is reflected in the computer gaming industry. Championship Manager is a long established computer game where players manage a football club. Over the years the tactics and data in the game have become so detailed that there is evidence of real football clubs using the tool to assess a players characteristics. Thus, these digital tools demonstrate both the potential and risk presented by data driven digital scouting.

IScout is placed well to fill the gap between traditional and digital scouting. This project will explore how the companies scouting models developed by professionals and based on in person assessments of players in and games can be translated into digital models.

These models will provide extra assurance to data used in digital scouting. The initial target market for them is the gaming industry to increase the quality in which digital data is applied to the real world game in contexts such as fantasy football leagues.

Beyond the project the digital assurance from IScout has the ability to help improve governance in the game. Football offers a significant cultural and economic pillar in the UK. In 2018, the Premier League contributed £3.3 billion in taxes, and its clubs support over 100,000 jobs. Despite its success, the football industry faces challenges, including financial instability caused by excessive spending on player transfers . This competitive overreach often leads to wage bill inflation, threatening the financial solvency of clubs and, consequently, their performance and productivity.

In this wider context the iScout platform aims to disrupt the current market by:

1. Targeting Both B2C and B2B Markets using digital football data: By catering to individual consumers and business clients, we expand our reach and impact within the football industry.
2. Exploiting Open Source Information and encouraging collaboration around a number of models that we will make open: Utilizing open-source data, we can provide comprehensive insights without the prohibitive costs associated with proprietary data sources.
3. Affordable Subscription Model: Monitorisation will be via premium subscription to use IScout digital models within the gaming and football industry.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
