COVID-19 has raised the importance of workplace cleanliness, and there is a raised awareness about the responsibility of employers to provide a safe working environment. Globally there are 4 billion commercial properties and the facilities management sector is worth £1.2Tn with the global contract cleaning subsection with £66bn & £2bn in the UK market place which is set to grow 14% CAGR 2027\.

Like wider Facilities Management benchmark contract pricing and specifying models, the commissioning of contract cleaning benchmarking service is based on a manual desktop review of the building floor plans and compared to industry data on contracts rather than an assessment of the specific building and use contract cleaning needs.

This results in a 70% level of accurate at best, as this does not account for anything not showing on the plans e.g. partitions, windows, bins, number of desks present, equipment in use, nor does it address how the building is used e.g. accounting for for an Airport toilet cleaning frequency in peak passenger periods, and the effects can be dramatic e.g. in hospitals 300,000 MRSA cases costing £1bn to the NHS has been attributed to incorrectly attributed contract cleaning services (Source: Elkomy & Cookson 2019\. Cheap and Dirty:The Effect of Contracting Out Cleaning on Efficiency and effectiveness).

ScanQuo is a UK-based SME that was founded by Keith Ryan, and Jeffrey Teglas. COVID-19 has increased the significance of workplace cleanliness. ScanQuo aims to produce a scanning technology software solution that can be used for digital twin buildings for determining contract pricing.

ScanQuo's solution quantifies sanitisation protocols and cleaning frequencies that can be monitored, thereby resulting in cleaner and safer buildings and work environments.

1. ScanQuo provides benchmarking in contract pricing for facilities management that leads to typical 13%-21.4% contract cost savings.
2. Contract pricing has never been accurate, and buildings are historically unhealthy and have not been hygienically managed effectively by building managers. Our software provides 99% accurate, benchmarked, data sets on the internals of a building's DNA, which we align to sanitisation protocols.
3. Pre-COVID, there were no visible health and safety guidelines, or COVID-19 scenario planning. Our software quantifies sanitisation protocols that were never previously factored. Employers duty-of-care to provide a safe place of work will in future require employers to demonstrate how they discharged their duty.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
