Namely, conventional home designs and building codes necessitate the use of lengthy plumbing runs to connect a home’s hot water source to its bathrooms. As a result, 1.5 gallons or more of cold water must typically be purged from the plumbing lines before hot water can reach the shower. This purge volume is commonly referred to as Structural Waste
Other problems such as needing to readjust the taps when switching off and back on to soap up or shampoo, not knowing when to get out and simply not being aware of these problems also make a huge contribution to unnecessary water loss.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
