One of our primary ingredients is chicken litter. Chicken litter arrives on site with variable moisture content, from 30-50% DM. One of our major costs is the cost to dry the chicken litter to the ideal moisture content for pelletising (85% DM). A major issue is compliance with the ABPR Regulations. Our composting and drying processes are currently ABPR compliant, but are energy intensive and therefore cost intensive. We are investigating options on how to simultaneously dry the material and comply with the ABPR Regulations in a more cost effective way. We propose to use the funding to trial an innovative batch drying process that will simultaneously ensure ABPR compliance, and to utilise a University/ laboratory to assist with the chemical/physical and biological testing, analysing samples to prove results.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
