10099333Phase 2 - Follow-Up to 10062747 Use of tethered drones in railClosedCollaborative R&DInnovate UKFollowing on from the Phase 1 feasibility study, the aim of the project will be to create demonstration units that will show how the use of embedded tethered and free flight drone systems can support the GCRE and the rail industry more widely in its aims of delivering more cost-effective ways to manage security and pre-planned maintenance. The use of tethered drones in particular would be the first demonstrator of its kind in the world - tethered drones are typically used by the military or by security companies on a temporary basis as opposed to a permanently embedded system such as we are proposing here.
