We
have made prototypes of this FLAT optic and these have been sold as developer kits to many
of the entrants in the emerging Augmented Reality industry. This component is the last piece
in the jigsaw to offer Augmented Reality Systems developers a clear, full colour, high
definition transparent optic close to the eye. We have received interest in this optic from
around 40 players in the emerging AR industry and the feedback has been very positive, with
many of these companies (including global consumer companies) looking to use our optic.
The main feedback has been however that to be usable for their applications (mainly
Augmented Reality smart glasses and in some cases helmets), the optic must be CURVED not
flat and on a CURVED waveguide.
The key aim of this application is to provide the funding to enable the modelling, design,
development and manufacture of a CURVED hologram optic prototype on a CURVED
waveguide substrate so that we are able to sell to he majority of AR systems firms.
Our aim is to establish TruLife Optics as a world leader in the manufacture of AR systems
optics and give the UK a position in this emerging industry, currently dominated by overseas
companies.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
