The system will be based on a innovative method of exploiting cost effective Fabry-Perot lasers that provide a substantial cost reduction without loss of performance over alternative QCLs such as external cavity devices and distributed feed back (DFB lasers). The goal will then be to use the demonstration of feasibility of such a system. The results can then be used after the project to provide a platform for subsequent business growth and raise funds to form a manufacturing business.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
