The Game Dev Group was founded on 3 principles: Meet, Learn, Collaborate.

We have created a friendly, welcoming and engaged community of game developers who meet monthly to learn from each-other and industry speakers. Building on the success of these monthly events, we began hosting Games Showcases to show what the community was working on, and game-jams to encourage the community to collaborate on their own games. This led us to an opportunity to deliver a Games Bootcamp, teaching graduate level learners the knowledge necessary to succeed in the games industry.

With the successful completion of the Games Bootcamp, we have discovered a passion and real need for games based education. We aim to encourage younger learners to follow their passion for gaming, whilst engaging them in entertaining educational experiences. 94% of Gen Alpha identify as "game enthusiasts" and the majority spend more time in UGC (User Generated Content) games platforms such as Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft, than they do on traditional social media. We aim to tap into this and utilise it to engage learners in new and exciting ways, creating games based on the National Curriculum, using familiar mechanics and IPs.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
