Applications include: the control software of an autonomous vehicle, which relies on a host of parallel, real-time sensor inputs, and which may itself be distributed over several processors; applications distributed over many thousands of processors in the cloud; and applications optimised for a multi-core processor on a single host. The project is inspired by a recent shift towards Reactive Programming (RP) as a response to increased hardware parallelism and the advent of cloud computing</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
