This condition, resulting from poor vocal technique, can lead to permanent damage such as nodules, threatening the careers and well-being of vocal professionals including singers, actors, broadcasters, educators, and public speakers. With tens of thousands at risk in the UK and millions worldwide, the prevalence of vocal health issues jeopardizes career and financial stability across these fields.

Vocal health is a significant concern, particularly in the education system, where teachers and tutors frequently suffer from voice-related issues. According to a study published in the _Journal of Voice_, nearly 50% of teachers report experiencing voice problems at some point in their careers. This impacts their teaching effectiveness and can lead to prolonged absences, affecting the overall educational experience for students.

Calin Blendea, the founder of CASBI, conceived the idea for the vocal health system while working as a vocal coach. He received hundreds of requests from singers, tutors, and public speakers seeking help with vocal health. This demand highlighted the need for a comprehensive solution to prevent and manage vocal health issues. Inspired by the quote from Cicero in "De Oratore," "Whatever sort of voice we do have, it is something that ought to be protected," Calin embarked on a mission to create a holistic approach to vocal care.

CASBI evolved from impactful in-person vocal training to launching a cutting-edge app, significantly extending its reach. Over the past three years, feedback from over 1,000 users has driven the app's development, broadening access to vocal coaching. In response to community needs, CASBI is now integrating vocal health management features, offering a holistic training experience that prioritizes both skill enhancement and wellness.

A key feature of the app is OptimalVoice(r), which evaluates a user's current vocal condition and generates examples of expected improvements with practice. Collaborations with institutions like the University of Sunderland have provided new insights into voice analysis and vocal health markers, enhancing the app's capabilities.

CASBI's journey, marked by innovation and user-centric development, aims to make vocal care accessible to all. Seeking funding to refine its market entry strategy, develop a customer-facing demonstrator, and prepare for a full product launch, CASBI is set to revolutionize vocal health, safeguarding the voices and livelihoods of vocal professionals and educators worldwide.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
