The technology unlocks the trapped energy in the wastewater, efficiently removes the organic matter, and recovers hydrogen from this process. The generated hydrogen can be used by the client or can be tailored for other resources such as ammonia or methane if required. The technology combines engineering, biology, and electrochemistry in a single device controlled and monitored via electronic system. This innovation reduces the cost of treatment (no need for aeration), enhances the capacity of treatment works and reduces the company's carbon footprint. METzero can be retrospectively fitted into existing infrastructure and monitored digitally. This allows for scalable solutions that can be constantly optimised in real-time and also provides the operators with insight into the quality of the treated water that would have otherwise not been available.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
