Every day during the ‘Big Freeze’ of 2010, British insurers dealt with &amp;gt; 3,500 claims for burst pipe damage paying out ~ &amp;pound;250M. 

Over 60% of all industrial, commercial and residential pipework is plastic, either PVC or high density polyethylene. Rising prices of copper and steel, the ease of installation and the use of recycled plastic products has resulted in the global demand for plastic pipes steadily rising. The British plastics industry had a turnover of &amp;pound;19 billion (2011) of which ~&amp;pound;4 billion was attributed to the manufacture of pipes, rainwater, greywater or foulwater products. 

Our aim is to seek a novel and innovative way of manufacturing non-freezing plastic pipes by integrating non-freezing particles with granular plastic feed.
