Despite Devon colleges offering forms of animation training and the 4 South West Universities having various animation based degrees, there are few opportunities for graduates locally. As a result, creative talent either leaves, or is forced into another sector.

One of our aims has always been to promote creative animation in the South West and champion young animator development outside of the major UK animation hubs. That's why we've mentored young people in underrepresented minorities in the animation industry - women, LGBT+, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities, and have also sponsored individual graduate commissions.

This grant funding gives us the opportunity to help young animators at the start of their careers as well as graduates looking to stay locally within creative employment, by using the funding to develop a training model that benefits both.

We wish to demonstrate the viability of an **Animation Training Academy in Devon** through a feasibility trial, where we deliver a curriculum for animation and corporate purposes.

By testing the potential of a new innovative animation academy, **it allows us to create future employment opportunities for Devon animation professionals**, meaning an animation degree is a qualification that can lead to a viable career in Devon, keeping talent within the region, whilst also developing young animators of the future.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
