As these tools come into close contact with eyes, nose and mouth, cross-infection from Covid-19, Staphylococcus aureus, Herpes simplex, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. can cause severe infections that are antibiotic resistant or viral.

Dirty makeup brushes can cause fungal infections, skin breakouts and in some cases, critical illness. Clens brushes have redesigned heads allowing cleaning from root to tip which can be cleaned in minutes using a quick-drying UVC sterilisation system. Allowing UVC light and air to the core of the brush, the hardest part to access.

Brush-heads, tools and cosmetics are cleansed between use in a quick-drying UVC sterilisation system (3' cycle) with no need for wasteful disposable applicators. At end-of-day, the system deep cleans and dries everything in 20', eliminating potential infections and need for toxic chemicals.

Brushes and cosmetics can be safely and rapidly cleansed and dried whilst minimising the disposable plastic waste, water consumption/contamination, use of chemicals, weight of kit and cross-contamination. Clens is tackling key pain-points for our users, their values, and the industry shortfalls by combining innovative tech and product design to create a system that solves these.

This truly chemical-free process allows MUAs and domestic users to clean brushes quickly, avoiding cross-contamination between clients.

This project will test the initial prototype concept on target market groups (make up artists and consumers) for their input and use this to lead product design development iterations. We will also work with our partner, PlusX, to design a planet-friendly, robust, sustainable design for manufacture and end-of-life recycling purposes.

Utilising our UVC cleaning technology in the cosmetics market to solve industry specific issues will allow us to springboard into future development of products that use our UVC technology in other markets such as home, baby, professional. Creating novel product design with the core UVC cleaning to bring chemical free cleaning to domestic and professional customers.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
