The game will endeavour to teach the players these orienteering methods in a realistic way so that they might be applied in real life, as well as engage them with the natural beauty and teach them about the wildlife that lives in the highlands through the journal, which will include important information about each animal or plant and it's conservation status.

The highlands face some pressing ecological concerns with much of the woodland and forests that once covered it being chopped down, the lack of natural predators and the resulting overpopulation of Red Deer and thus overgrazing is hindering efforts to re-wild the once sprawling forests of the Scottish highlands. It is our aim to help teach players of these ecological concerns and how changes like this happen, how they can be rectified and how they can potentially help prevent further ecological damage to the highlands as well as take some tips for how to help their own local ecology, creating an educational experience through a fun and interactive medium.

By showing how wild and diverse the Scottish countryside can be we hope to encourage people to get outdoors all across the UK and further afield, taking the navigational skills learnt in the game to the real world. We hope to use the funding from Innovate UK to develop the initial version of the game for testing and to raise further funding.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
