10133087THEYClosedCollaborative R&DInnovate UKTHEY is a location-based Mixed Reality live performance, exploring how Artificial Intelligence is re-shaping our sense of Reality and challenging our convictions of Authenticity. The project explores new accessible ways of creating, presenting and viewing live performance and digital content. Interacting with performers both in-person and as live, hyper-realistic avatars in virtual space, audience members will be placed at the centre of a live experience in which they are both observers and participants. THEY asks vital questions about the role of AI in both Art and our daily lives, immersing the audience at the centre of the debate and challenging them to come to their own conclusions. In exploring these questions, THEY also touches on inter-connecting themes of Diversity vs Homogeneity, Uniqueness vs Mass Production, Marginalisation vs Mainstream, examining the extent to which AI has a positive and negative impact on these apparent polarities.
