Whilst access to digital devices can bring about benefits in education & entertainment; unmonitored access by children can lead to significant risks including contact with inappropriate content & damage to health & wellbeing through sedentary lifestyles/inactivity. Dangers posed by unmonitored child access makes digital based parental monitoring (PM) a crucial pillar of responsible 21stC parenting. Dedicated PM software has not kept pace with changing technology. Existing best-in-class competitors are dominated by traditional PM desktop only software & single operating system (OS) downloadable apps. This fractionalised single OS approach severely limits the ability for parents to co-ordinate PM activity throughout all home based devices as it requires a high level of technical competency & time to continuously monitor screen time. To take advantage of the identified UK, EU & global market need for a mobile-first PM software, Kidslox Trading (KTrad) seek to develop & validate Kidslox; a centralised multidevice/ OS PM platform which will allow parents to (1) Monitor child activity/trends across multiple devices from a single centralised web-based dashboard (2) Implement autonomous (without manual alteration of hardware settings) time based controls. Kidslox simple user interfaces & experience will make it accessible to parents across the technology knowledge spectrum, enabling maximum potential user adoption. Whilst KTrad are new entry to the market place, the team has extensive experience in software development & has already established a proof of concept leading from 6months of advanced software engineering by 3 full-time developers.
