We want to help people produce less waste with a focus on reducing single use plastic consumption.

We want to expand upon our existing service (a small pop up refill shop) and open a large bricks and mortar refill shop and community climate hub. The shop will sell things like loose dried foods, oils and vinegars, chilled and frozen products, cleaning liquids, local produce, and sustainable living items. All of these items will be in a refill format and plastic free, where people bring containers to fill into. The hub side of the enterprise will offer educational workshops and events around sustainability, and also provide a space for food preservation and mending.

The enterprise will generate income through sales from the shop, our trailer and workshop fees.

It will generate social and environmental impact through the reduction of plastic packaging and carbon emissions whilst giving access to an affordable and sustainable service. Through this impact we will benefit:

* The individuals who use our service
* Families who have access to healthy package free foods
* Tourism businesses by their guests producing less waste
* The local authority through reductions in waste disposal
* Visitors who learn from and hopefully take away the sustainability principles to their own communities
* The environment in both a local and wider context

Our solution will improve the environment and contribute to net zero targets through the reduction of plastic pollution, carbon emissions and food waste.

We see the Ullapool Unpacked C.I.C. refill shop and community climate hub becoming a thriving and vibrant institution at the centre of our community. Creating links with other local enterprises, and shifting the retail narrative of Ullapool. A service run by the community, for the community. Forming deep rooted sustainable practices for now and generations to come, for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
