Current training methods are often expensive, inflexible, or limited by the availability of specialist equipment and human actors. This project will deliver a new, innovative platform for professional training accessible via any standard mobile phone or tablet. The core of the solution is a voice-enabled artificial intelligence (AI) that acts as a realistic conversational partner in high-stakes simulated scenarios (e.g., safeguarding, crisis assessment). The key innovation is the Collaborative Scenario Builder---an intuitive tool that enables both university lecturers and practice educators to easily and quickly create, customise, and deploy bespoke training scenarios. This feature ensures that the content is directly aligned with local curricula, cultural sensitivities, and the professional standards set by organisations like the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC). Development is underpinned by a "Co-Design and Validation" methodology, embedding expert educators and practitioners at every stage to ensure the tool is practical and effective. To protect users and data, the platform implements strict protocols for data privacy and application safety, guaranteeing that user conversations are secure and that the AI always operates within safe, professionally approved boundaries. The successful delivery of this platform will provide a significant public benefit by dramatically increasing the capacity for high-quality, safe practice and skills assessment, ultimately supporting workforce development and improving the quality of service delivery across the social care sector. While initially validated for social work, the underlying configurable platform is designed for rapid adoption across other professional industries such as nursing, policing, and teaching.
