responsible for 1 in 6 deaths in the UK, a trend that is increasing. It is estimated that, by 2030,
we will be 35% less active than in 1961. Public Health England have stated that “if current
trends continue, the burden of health and social care will destabilise public services”, which
has led to this problem being made a government priority.
imin will revolutionise how people keep physically active by creating an open data platform
that makes physical activity searchable. With a framework in place that connects people and
places, making it easier to find and book activities, the gap between people and opportunities
to be active can be bridged, and invaluable data captured that will lead to long term change,
both socially and economically.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
