Through early discussions with stakeholders, there has been an agreement that if this coating passes the industrial testing required, then it has a commercial advantage.

This project is aimed at developing a longer in use product for the aerospace industry through developing components with superior mechanical and chemical properties compared to components developed with coatings currently. Developing components utilising this new process will;

\*Improve the wear and tear over time

\*Provide superior abrasion, corrosion, and chemical resistance

\*Improve strength and durability

This also indicates that introducing this material coating is an innovative perspective within the aerospace industry.

This project will look to support the the experimental development process of Exact trialling components with this new coating as an alternative type of product to their core business model. To complete this project, Exact will purchase sample material and coating, analyse the application of the coating on components and plan and undertake required industry testing to ensure that their performance equals or exceeds that of current coating methods. This will validate the use of this coating on aerospace components. Post successful testing and certification, Exact will be enabled to commercialise this as an addition to their core business.

This involves 6 industrial tests that will be carried out on sample components with this coating applied. The assistance provided by fulfilling this project will support the internal labour costs, external consulting coats and sample material costs required to develop samples, administer the required mechanical and chemical testing and validation of the results for the aerospace industry.

The output of the project is validation of coating material revolutionised within the aerospace. This will directly align to the strategic focus of destination zero through weight reduction of components for carbon neutral aircrafts.

The properties of this coating will improve the operating life of the components whilst dramatically reducing the weight of the components through due to a much lower material density opposed to painting or powder-coating components.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
