They all work using pipes, pumps, valves, sensors and run/alarm signals, and we are at a state where controls technology and connectivity can be unified across the industry using existing, battle hardened open-source technology.

Society is currently unable to share data and learn from mistakes or moments of enlightenment, with layer upon layer of controls functions tied into licenses and closed protocols that make free movement of data impossible, and nowhere to store what there is.

Our project is to deliver an open-source general HVAC control board running open-source software that has the required inputs and outputs to take on almost any role within the plumbing industry.

Initially we will focus on three software applications:

* Thermal store controller / heat source sequencer
* Fan coil monitoring and control
* HIU monitoring and optimisation

The application will be demonstrated working both independently, and combined to create a working example of heat network control to CP1 standards.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
