This comprises the heaviest residual fraction of crude oil cracking. Progressive improvements in this process have led to greater extraction of lighter fractions and to the residual heavy bunker fuel oil having higher mean molecular weight and greater viscosity. HFO usually has to be warmed up before it can be used, and due to viscosity increases, a mineral oil is often added as a ‘viscosity cutter’. Alphaco Consulting Ltd has developed a waste tyre pyrolysis process to produce useful products from waste tyres. The process enables us to produce a range of oil type products and solid products similar to carbon black.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
