metal mining sites which are having a negative impact on water quality and are causing
failure of the EU Water Framework Directive. The majority of such sites are protected due to
their unique ecological and/or heritage value. Traditional remediation techniques are both
destructive and costly. C-Cure Solutions Ltd. have developed an innovative charcoal based
products to remediate waste materials contaminated with metals and metalloids, whilst
protecting the ecological and heritage value of sites. The C-Cure technique is also very cost
effective, and has the potential to significant reduce the remediation and restoration site costs
of leagacy mine sites in the UK and across Europe. There are an estimated 200+ metal mine
sites in the UK requiring remediation, and 15,000 sites across Europe. The project will work
with real sites to demonstrate the efficacy of the C-Cure technique and open up a significant
market opportunity.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
