Our innovation serves the patient by giving them improved awareness and control of their mental health care pathway and the sharing of their detailed support history with service providers. Safe Space One supports service providers by being a single platform in which they can construct and manage their mental health interventions, and supports therapists and counsellors by enabling them to personalise interventions to individual need. Ultimately we support the change towards the blended digital approach that mental health needs between wellbeing support, mental health treatment, and the need for the private sector, charities and NHS to have a means to interoperate in a patient-centred way on their care journey.

We are building the first end-to-end-encrypted web-based portal for the patient (referred to as their Patient's Virtual Therapy Room) into which therapists and councillors can provide interventions and interact with the patient. We see multiple components of patient centredness: choice over care pathways and access to services, confidentiality of personal data and control over how it is shared, and continuity of experience between different providers. Patients can share previous intervention content and/or outcomes (GAD7/PHQ9s etc) with subsequent intervention providers, or choose to keep it confidential in this end-to-end-encrypted Patient's Virtual Therapy Room. Additionally a service provider can be granted consensual access to the interactions of a patient forming a complete view of how a set of treatments in a care pathway have contributed to positive patient outcomes, which will lead to improvements of support as providers learn what combination of interventions works best.

Healthcare professionals will be able to build and upload their proven therapeutic support content which can be used on an individual basis, shared within their organisation or in fact across the industry. This will replace the current ad hoc nature of therapeutic content sharing and allow for results-oriented assessment of the value of the material.
