751738Lignin: Crop IntellectClosedVouchersInnovate UKLignin is a natural polymer in abundance and produced as a by-product of the paper industry. It has a complex chemical structure, including cellulosic and aromatic ether components and could play a major role in the formation of aromatic chemicals. The use of lignin in agriculture has been successful but its full potential as a dispersant, emulsifier and sequestrant has not been exploited thus far. Our objective for this project is to develop an agricultural formulation aid by extracting the fraction of lignin linked to ion binding and growth stimulation.
