Management System (MCRMS) targeted at the Small/Medium Enterprise (SME) sized
retailers. Integration of the ‘bricks’ and ‘clicks’ shopping experience is of growing importance
for sustaining customer expectations and retaining brand loyalty. For SME Retailers, such
multi-channel systems are ‘out-of-reach’ due to high cost and complexity of use. Therefore, an
MCRMS must make it simple to deploy, use and manage new technologies while providing
the retailer with detailed insights into new shopping habits. It will enable a highly
personalised shopping experience for both online and in-the-shop. The novelty in the Project is
based upon:
* The adoption of data mining algorithms applied to the retail transactions across a wide range
of SME-sized retailers. This will provide personalised reports on the retail activities for each
retailer, consolidated best-of-breed insights into the expected performance for each retail
sector and real-time personalisation of the shopping experience for each of the retailer’s
customers
* The integration of retail Beacons and novel Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) devices for
integrated multi-channel retail delivery to improve the shopping experience. This will provide
the connection between the physical and cyber shopping experiences.
The benefits that will accrue from this new approach are:
* New insights into shopping habits and opportunities should provide SME Retailers with a
significant broadening of the revenues and revenue collection modes from their user base.
Therefore, they will be able to more effectively target their customer base and identify new
sales opportunities
* The end-users will have a better shopping experience. The use of the data mining to provide
highly personalised retail information and coupled with the Beaconing/EPoS delivery will
enable new, targeted just-in-time shopping opportunities to be provided.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
