This has led to more regular use of chemical fungides, biocides and algicides in order to keep surfaces clean. The aim is to design, develop and test, in collaboration with Bangor University, new functional materials, that allow surfaces in the built environment to self-clean. The innovative new products will comprise recycled and natural materials, supporting the further development of the Circular Economy. Flexibility in the design of the materials will allow product fabricators to develop products suitable for the particular climactic and microclimactic conditions in the built environment in Northern Europe and North America.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
