supporting charities. It aims to turn donations from an occasional, carefully considered
decision, into a habitual, seamless process integrated into everyday activities and rewarding
on both an emotional and financial level.
After extensive market and technological research, Boxmap came up with a solution which
presents a four-sided win-win situation. Not only for charities and consumers, but also
retailers and corporate donors (sponsoring the charitable donations) obtain a clear, measurable
benefit.
For consumers, Boxmap offers a material upside to their donations to charity: being able to
take advantage of vouchers and promotional offers. The rewards presented to retailers are
increased knowledge about their customer base, an additional communication and marketing
channel, and the ability to gain access to the kind of marketing analytics that are normally
only possible online. Corporate sponsors are able to conduct their Social Responsibility
programmes in line with their business objectives in a controlled, measurable manner. Lastly,
charities themselves, particularly small and undermarketed ones, achieve greatly increased
donations and gain access to a vast database of consumers it would be very difficult and time
consuming to acquire otherwise.
Before Boxmap can bring these benefits to market, the hardware product enabling accurate
pinpointing of users via their smart phones must be developed, and this is the purpose of this
