A unique device which can be assembled without any tools and used to convert solar energy into heat in the form of hot water. The solar collector will provide a new way to harness solar energy to provide low cost, carbon free hot water for households and businesses, especially in the global south (e.g. Africa). With heating the single largest source of energy related greenhouse gas emissions, its decarbonisation is a critical pathway to tackling climate change and reaching our net zero targets.

Our goal is to design and manufacture a high performing solar thermal collector that includes 20-30% waste product while also providing SolarisKit the means to recycle key components used to assemble the solar collector in order to provide customers the option to send back old components instead of sending to landfill. Based on our research of the market, it will be the world's most circular solar thermal collector with every single component accessible which can be repaired, replaced, or recycled.

The new design solar collector will be manufactured by SolarisKit in the UK and tested in Kenya where customers and stakeholders across supply and value chains will be engaged to identify and address issues with its commercialisation. Extensive testing will also be carried out in Dundee Scotland where SolarisKit is based.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
