Unlike land-based bioplastics that compete with food crops for agricultural resources, **PS Pellet** offers brands an environmentally responsible alternative that performs like conventional materials while eliminating microplastic pollution concerns.

This project will advance our technology from laboratory validation to pilot-scale production, focusing on developing stable, transportable dry polymer pellets. These pellets will be specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with existing global manufacturing infrastructure, requiring no equipment modifications from film manufacturers. Extensive lab trials have already demonstrated the material's ability to replace PVA, a polymer used in billions of laundry capsules annually that contributes to microplastic pollution despite being water-soluble. PlantSea's solution breaks down completely in natural environments without harmful residues. This breakthrough aligns perfectly with tightening EU and UK sustainability regulations, including forthcoming restrictions on intentional microplastics under UK REACH.

This initiative represents more than just product development. It is creating an entirely new bio-based water-soluble materials sector with far-reaching implications. With major FMCG brands under increasing regulatory and consumer pressure to eliminate microplastics, PlantSea's technology arrives at the right moment to transform the water-soluble films industry while positioning the UK at the forefront of the global bioeconomy. This project is not just solving today's most pressing microplastic problem, but also creating a platform technology adaptable to multiple industries. The same core innovation has immediate potential applications in cosmetics, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural films. **PS Pellet** tackles plastic pollution at its source while supporting coastal economies through sustainable seaweed farming partnerships.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
