Instead of using timers or strict lockdowns, Limmi turns rooms into app free zones. Step into a classroom, a bedroom, or your home workspace, and distracting apps like TikTok or games switch off. Step out again, and they come back. It is a gentle, automatic shift designed to help pupils focus in lessons, families enjoy screen free evenings, and remote workers or individuals reclaim their attention.

The system serves three core groups: individuals who want better focus and less distraction, parents who want a calmer way to support their children's screen use, and schools looking for effective tools that do not rely on surveillance or physical phone bans.

At the heart of Limmi's system are small Bluetooth Low Energy beacons. These sit quietly in the background, using radio signals to detect when someone enters or leaves a space. BLE operates at 2.4 GHz, within the radio frequency band highlighted in this competition. While GPS and WiFi struggle indoors, Limmi's refined signal processing enables room level accuracy, creating precise boundaries where other tools cannot.

With support from Innovate UK, Limmi will take its working iOS prototype and turn it into a complete system for both iOS and Android. The project will:

* Improve indoor positioning accuracy through signal fingerprinting and adaptive calibration
* Add Android support using native operating system enforcement tools
* Create a fast and accessible setup experience for home, school, and work environments
* Prepare the system for future upgrades using Ultra Wideband and visible light technologies

The result is a quiet but powerful shift in how we relate to our devices. Limmi gives people the ability to define digital boundaries based on real spaces, not just settings screens. By doing so, it offers a thoughtful, privacy respecting approach to screen management that fits naturally into daily life.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
