RIKEN is a National Research and Development Agency and Japan's largest comprehensive research institution with over 3,000 employees.

The project vision is to develop a digital smart ventilation system that incorporates FAR-UVC LED technology to create a system that supplies and maintains virus inactivated indoor air in homes energy efficiently and in line with Net Zero. The initial market is residential; however, we see opportunities in the health sector including hospitals, care homes and other health facilities as well as commercial buildings.

The challenges include the technical difficulty of achieving higher output from FAR-UVC LEDs and developing AI to optimise ventilation and virus inactivation effectiveness.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
