NML's innovation, 'Enduo', is underpinned by the biggest breakthrough in mechanical power transfer in over a century: the ability to utilise both sides of a sprocket tooth, also known as Dual Engagement.

NML are looking to apply this technology first to e-cargo bikes and provide the first purpose-built transmission system for all e-cargo bikes , something no direct competitor provides. Enduo has the potential to revolutionise transmission efficiency, wear performance and mechanical-parts lifetimes.

In partnership with New Motion Labs, the NGML will be designing, building and operating a mechanical wear rig which will be used to measure the lifetime and efficiency performance of Enduo drivetrains.

Astute will then utilise these results to create a computer model that can be used to rapidly test other factors and applications and validate test results.

Through this program New Motion Labs will be able to measure the wear performance of all of the drivetrains and fully capture the opportunity of being the first to market drivetrain specifically for e-cargo bikes in the UK and internationally.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
