Three companies and two universities have teamed up to develop a hands-on course covering the entire PIC creation process, including design, fabrication, testing, and packaging, using industry tools and standards. The course addresses the skills shortage and needs for practical experience in the field, training PIC practitioners who will become effective employees quicker than through standard routes. The course will be carried out in short boot camp-style sessions over three months, focusing on Silicon Photonics. If successful, it could form part of a professional accreditation program offered annually.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
