Our solution scales easily to large sensors with diagonals up to 85” and is compatible with the flat-panel TVs with which the future of interactive displays lies. We have already demonstrated the precise tracking of touch events from multiple fingers or a touch stylus while simultaneously rejecting most touch events from large objects like palms. There is an urgent market need to provide multi-touch technology capable of consistently and completely rejecting the palm of the user in order to achieve a comfortable user experience for the creators of content – who often need to use virtual keyboard or stylus input for digital inking. This project will provide an opportunity to test the feasibility of novel algorithms for the radical improvement of the touch recognition software developed by Alterix aiming to ensure that no touch events from large objects are reported to the computer. Our technology will allow users to rest their palms directly on the glass of the touch display thus eliminating ‘Gorilla arm’ syndrome.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
