decision management capability and MooD believes that a substantial business opportunity
exists in this area. Interacting factors affecting strategic business decisions include budget
constraints, faster business cycles, outsourcing and shared services, partnering and responding
to threats, all placing increasing pressure on business management.
The proposed utilisation of a Causal Business Model will use a new generation of analysis
algorithms to provide intelligent data generation, synthesis and interpretation to enable a
community of business stakeholders to ask a wide range of ‘What if?’ questions regarding the
operation and balance of activity across the Enterprise. The key aims and objectives will be to
develop:
a) Causal modelling approaches best suited to provide a rapid strategic level analysis
capability for critical business decision scenarios;
b) New visualisation techniques required to interpret a complex network of cause and effect
relationships particularly when addressing a set of divergent alternatives through time; and
c) New sets of input data feeds and Enterprise Integration capabilities to enable the causal
models to use a richer set of information sources.
The innovation is in the adoption of a unique approach and will require a step change in
available product functionality and underlying algorithms to move from a reactive solution to
one with a proactive capability. MooD’s key market focus is Cyber Threat Management
(CTM) a sector driven by the well documented priority spending trend on information
security. The impact of poor decision making in a major organisation in relation to CTM can
be catastrophic for the economy, environment and society.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
