750811Roman CementClosedVouchersInnovate UKThis project proposes to investigate the possibility to replace gypsum with Roman cement in plaster mortars, with a view to lower the embodied energy of the material. A novel retardation technique will be applied to produce a Roman cement mortars with a workable life suitable for plaster applications. A Roman cement mortar will be developed and tested on site for suitability in plaster applications and in a laboratory for physical and mechanical properties.
