One example is the Internet of Things (IoT) which links “things” as diverse as cars, industrial sensors and household appliances to the Internet. The evidence of hackers being able to compromise IoT systems is seen by security experts as a taster of things to come. It is believed the IoT will not start growing without a ‘fundamentally new’ security model as severe risks exist if its vulnerability is exploited, including financial losses or breaches of confidential data. Our PoM (finished 8/14) showed that, although the need increases vastly in parallel with the expected uptake of IoT devices, no one is currently providing this type of defence and no competing technology exists that would perform security scans of devices. Our IoT Defence Scanner is an innovative, easy-to-use, convenient and reliable solution that will considerably increase the confidence in IoT. Consisting of a portfolio of products (including a static/portable scanning device, mobile app and web app), our scanner combines existing cutting-edge technologies in an unprecedented way.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
