This project focuses on death and the individual, and how we can help the planet with our own demise. It concentrates on sustainability, environmental issues, beauty and the person. Whilst we in the UK tend to avoid thinking about the inevitable there is a growing movement which invites us to become responsible and consider our final impact. The natural death industry advocates green burials, moving away from the traditional victorian style funeral and promoting a more intimate, natural ending. It is this intimate and responsible element that enables artists to engage with individuals to create beautiful pieces which recognise the individual through the design and making of unique sustainable and biodegradable shrouds, shroud carriers and innovative pulp coffins.

Shrouds and Ashes create these products and work directly with families to create bespoke designs as well as having ready available works of art to wrap around you and carry you to your burial.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
