accessibility of their environment and share this knowledge with other disabled people. It also
creates a forum to connect with and pay potential access workers. In these ways, MOE creates
an integrated tool that gives disabled people the power to take advantage of increased control
of their care budgets to navigate their environment. This application is a commercial tool to
improve lives.
Personalisation is a key government agenda that aims to give all disabled people access to a
personal budget. A personal budget consists of all money allocated for their care. Within the
context of personalisation, there is a need for technological tools to help disabled people live
more independent lives. This project provides once such tool: Mobile Organised
Environments.
Disabled People will be running and planning this project, but they have the skills to be more
than mere advisors. One has an MA in New Media Production and another has a Doctorate in
Bioinformatics, one is an experienced programmer and between them have over 35 years of
experience in cross-platform production. Additional to this, a voluntary and community sector
group of disabled people will provide an additional source of advice.
In some ways the proposed tool is quite ambitious, in other way it is a relatively simple
drawing together of existing tools and approaches that have been applied to dating and social
networking. This will simplify the process of drawing toagther the date for the proof of
concept.
During this project we will go through an extensive testing process. Firstly, we will confirm
that this is a unique technology, fix the Iintellectual Property position, and then go through an
extensive series of focus groups to refine and perfect the idea. This project will meet the needs
of the market opened up by the opportunities of personalisation.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
